Afro-Peruvian Pancho Fierro (1810-1879)  was a self-taught painter who chronicled the customs of people in everyday Lima, Peru.  As the leading costumbrista artist in the country, his works depicted a great variety of people and places at the transitional phase between the colonial and Republican periods.
