Aboubakar Fofana

Mali-born designer Aboubakar Fofana is renowned for his indigo-colored textiles, all limited edition designs on organic, handspun cotton and linen. Each piece is hand-dyed with vegetables dyes and minerals, some from pigments derived from plants indigenous to Mali. He splits his time between Mail and France, but uses his creations as a way to honor an ancient cultural custom and preserve the environment.
